HTFAF Lovesongs: The Mixtape

In honor of today being my two year anniversary with my wonderful girlfriend Savannah, I have compiled a small anniversary mixtape, and it’s fantastic. Some of these are obvious, some are not: but that’s the way it should be — a mix full of sappy power ballads gets old fast.

Also, there is a YouTube of the worst love-song moment ever at the bottom: John Stamos (As Jesse Katsopolis of Full House with his fake band, The Rippers) in all his mulleted glory singing a shirtless Beach Boys cover with candles, a power-ballad facemelter, white linen, gratuitous black and white glamour shots, the whole nine yards. Man is it painful.

whoa, only the Ray Charles tune showed up on hypemachine which is how I got here, but now I see there are a ton more, you should look into that.

    Sarah,
Click on the link, skip the advertisment (top right hand corner) scroll down and click the file name “archive.zip” with the red arrow pointing to it, your computer should then open a dialog box asking you if you want to save it to your computer

Ok, besides how awesome this mix was, I remember seeing tht “video” on Full House in the 3rd grade, holy crap thank you for the memories.

    Also, I would add:

Iron & Wine – Such Great Heights
Jamie Cullum – But for Now
    Ben Folds- The Luckiest

The Luckiest is probably the most cliche Ben Folds’s song, in my opinion. Not to hate or anything, but it’s always been my least favorite.

Yeah I gotta agree about the Luckiest. Ben has written some genius songs but that ain’t one of them.

    ^^agreed

    However, these are pretty genius

    Ben Kweller – Lizzy
    Death Cab – I will follow…
Aireline – Sleeptalker (Happy Again) < -- I bought that album on itunes after hearing some of it on your blog a ways back so thanks for that.

    Awwww.

    This was WONDERFUL.

Mine and my boyfriend’s three month anniversary is coming up, so this definitely got me in the mood.

And hopefully, we’ll last two years.

    Thanks again, I LOVED it.

this is a fantastic mix. congratulations on your two year anniversary… sounds great :)

i’m having a problem with a few of the tracks, though, because they’re .m4p’s…?

  11. 11 Caleb May 27, 2007 at 10:52 pm

Yeah, apparently I uploaded some of the wrong versions of the song (I usually have my music in m4a, but make it mp3 to post here) there should be correctly formatted versions of all the songs in the zip, if you download the individual links of the songs you’re having trouble with.

    Sorry.

I just listened to the entire mix … definitely enjoyed it. And nice bonus tracks, I might add.
