Hard to Find a Friend is a music blog created by Nashville blogger Caleb Palma on a cold and boring night in October of the year 2006. It has grown from a bi-weekly account of songs I had been playing to a (usually) daily (if not more often) dose of reviews, random song praisings, interviews, digital mixtpaes, and even an exclusive compilation along the way.
In November of 2007 we here at Hard to Find a Friend released Peace on Earth, a digital Holiday-themed compilation to benefit Toys for Tots. The compilation featured 18 all-exclusive tracks from the likes of Chris Walla (Death cab for Cutie), Great Lake Swimmers, The Long Winters, Someone Still Loves you Boris Yeltsin, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Via Audio, Rosie Thomas, American Music Club, & more.
Peace on Earth raised approximately $3,200.00 dollars for Toys for Tots, and was featured on prominent news and media outlets such as NPR Music and Pitchfork Media, as well as countless blogs, regional and national papers & zines. A follow-up is planned for 2008.
